Una pequeña reseña: A State of Trance (a veces abreviado como ASoT o ASOT) es un programa de radio emitido semanalmente, presentado por el DJ neerlandés Armin van Buuren. En un principio emitido en marzo de 2001 por ID&T Radio (precursor de Slam!FM), el programa toma el formato de una mezcla de dos horas en las cuales se presentan las novedades de la música de trance, tanto promocional como comercialmente. Las pistas seleccionadas son anunciadas durante el programa a fin de ayudar a promover a nuevos artistas y lanzamientos de los ya conocidos. Su combinación de radioshow/Website ha demostrado su popularidad internacionalmente, cuando los seguidores —escuchando el programa de radio— dialogan y opinan sobre el programa en los foros de conocidos sitio Web, así como en DI.FM, durante la emisión. A manera global, el programa atrae a más de 6,000,000 radioescuchas cada semana.
